Luke Williams | There's been a real edge in training
Head coach Luke Williams has enjoyed the edge he has seen on the training ground this week as Swansea City get set to take on Sunderland.
The Swans made the journey to Wearside looking to make it consecutive wins on their travels having beaten play-off chasing Hull in their previous away fixture.
They have since suffered home defeats to automatic promotion hopefuls Leeds United and Ipswich Town, but Swans boss Williams says his players have been determined to raise performance levels and standards.
“It’s been a really tough run of games, but I feel motivated and I have no complaints in terms of what I see from the players,” said Williams.
“There are no excuses or deflecting, they are up for everything and working hard and have a good way of communicating to each other.
“We have had a few choice words between the players in training, but it’s been done in a good way, being assertive about performance levels and people talking to each other.
“It shows they care and understand what they are supposed to be achieving and if someone falls below that you are entitled to tell people, but you have to do it in the right way.
“It’s not about settling scores, it’s about working together. That’s given me encouragement.”
