Luke Williams | There is an edge because we know we should be in a better position

Head coach Luke Williams admits there has been an additional edge in training this week as Swansea City look to exorcise their frustrations when they face Oxford on Saturday.

The Swans will head to the Kassam Stadium looking to end a run of six games without a win, of which they have drawn three.

The outcomes of those games could so easily have been different had the Swans taken their opportunities in front of goal.

And Williams acknowledged the sense of frustration that Swansea are not in a better position has been evident on the training pitch.

But he is confident his players can turn things around.

“I think it’s clear we have a group of players who are determined to do well and there’s a focus,” said the Swans boss.

“There’s just the right amount of anger, but we need that because we know we should have had more points. it would be different if we felt that we weren’t anywhere near in games.

“These guys are so desperate to do well, they want to have a good season, do well and help the club. They have to relax a bit more in the big moments. It’s a group of young players, particularly at the top of the pitch, and they will come good.

“I think it’s fair to say that the team looks like it’s organised and knows what it’s trying to do.

“The players are motivated and working hard for each other, we’re competitive in the games, and there are small margins in the games that could have meant we come away with more points.

“So, it’s not as terrible as it sounds. I believes West Brom are on a similar sort of run to us and I’m sure nobody is panicking there.

“We shouldn’t be too disappointed with the performances, and if we can maintain them things will change."
