Luke Williams | Sharing that with the fans was magic
Head coach Luke Williams savoured a “magic” moment after watching his Swansea City side secure the south Wales derby bragging rights with a 2-0 victory over Cardiff City.
Liam Cullen and Jamal Lowe were on the scoresheet for the Swans as they came out on top at the Swansea.com Stadium.
It means the Swans remain the only team to complete a league double in the 112-year history of the fixture, and they have now won five of the last six meetings between the sides.
Williams, his staff and the players all shared the victory with the Jack Army following the full-time whistle, and it was a moment the Swans boss savoured.
“I think we gave the fans what they would like the most. We gave them a clean sheet and a couple of goals, and a performance of quality with the football, but aggression and desire to keep a clean sheet,” he said.
“There were so many ingredients in there today. The players put so much into it.
“Everyone played their part, you could see that from the players who came off the bench and the effort they put in, and how everybody celebrated together as a group.
“That is the requirement to be a good team, to be together like that.
“It was just magic to share it with the supporters, they are moments that will live long in the memory.
“I hope we can do more celebrating like that in the future together and have that powerful connection because that is what this game is about.”
