Swansea City head coach Luke Williams is pleased to have seen highly-rated youngster Sam Parker commit his future to the club.

The 18-year-old has put pen to paper on a new four-year deal in SA1, running through to the summer of 2028.

Parker made his first-team breakthrough last term, being handed his senior bow in the draw at Coventry City in December, and going on to feature against Morecambe and Birmingham City.

Injury curtailed his 2023-24 campaign, but he is working his way back to full fitness, and the Swans boss was glad to see the teenager’s future secured.

“It is great news for us,” he said.

“It means Sam has got a bit of time now to keep working and try to nail down his game and force himself into the first team.

“He is making good progress in his rehab, we don’t know how long it is going to take for him to get up to full speed but he is working hard.”
