Luke Williams | The performance was poor and we got what we deserved
Head coach Luke Williams admitted Swansea City had got what they deserved for a poor performance after they suffered a 2-1 defeat at Hull City.
Mason Burstow grabbed the winner for the home side late on, dispatching an unerring strike into the far corner of the net after a stray pass had been picked off.
Joao Pedro had earlier given the Tigers the lead, before Harry Darling headed home an equaliser for the Swans just before the interval.
Ben Cabango hit the woodwork for the visitors with the score at 1-1, but Hull were denied by a post on two occasions themselves.
Williams had spoken of the test Hull would pose after bringing in new head coach Ruben Selles earlier in the month, and acknowledged his side had lacked the energy and tempo required.
“I’m not happy with the performance, we were poor today and did not deserve to win,” said the Swans boss.
“The opposition were better than us, we performed very poorly and we got what we deserved.
“It’s frustrating. We have wasted a 90 minutes of football we are never going to get back and there’s nothing we can do about that now.
“When we got the equaliser of course I hoped we would be able to kick on from there.
“But I felt that unless there was a significant change in the second half then I did not see us winning the game.
“We have given ourselves a terrible start to the Christmas period and we have got a home game coming up where we will have to do a lot better than that, and we will do.”
