Luke Williams’ and his coaching staff will seek to get valuable training ground repetitions and conditioning work into the Swansea City squad ahead of the second batch of Championship fixtures.

The Swans have taken four points from their first four games, and will resume second-tier hostilities when Norwich City visit the Swansea.com Stadium on Saturday, September 14.

A number of players – including Ben Cabango, Ollie Cooper, Liam Cullen, Jisung Eom, Zan Vipotnik and Lawrence Vigouroux – are away with their respective countries during the international break.

But there will be no break for the remainder of the Swans squad at Fairwood.

“We are going to lose a number of players to international duty, but we really need to try to get the group together,” said Williams.

“We have a lot of guys who are new to the set-up, and are new to the Championship.

“So we really have to try and help the group bed in quickly, and get up to speed with the requirements of the Championship.

“Some of the guys who have just arrived need conditioning work, and we need to get them all to train together and learn to play together better.

“It’s about repetitions for the players, and conditioning, because it’s obvious that the players who have been with us longer will find it easier to handle the physical demands and the workload.

“That’s where the concentration is, that’s what we give maximum effort to, to give the players my full commitment.”
