Head coach Luke Williams spoke of his pride in his Swansea City players after they came from behind to beat Luton Town in dramatic fashion at the Swansea.com Stadium.

The Swans had trailed to an early Carlton Morris strike in SA1, but deservedly levelled just before the interval when Gonçalo Franco bundled in his second goal in as many games.

Jisung Eom hit the post, while Harry Darling and Ronald were denied by keeper Thomas Kaminski and the hosts continued to pile on the pressure after the visitors had Joe Johnson sent off with just over 20 minutes remaining.

And it paid off when Myles Peart-Harris arrived at the far post to head home, after Harry Darling had steered the ball back across the face of goal from a Matt Grimes cross, and make it 2-1 in stoppage time.

It secured back-to-back wins for Swansea after another dominant display following the Boxing Day win over Queens Park Rangers, and a first victory when coming from behind in a game since October 2023.

And Williams was delighted with the efforts of his squad.

“I think the players really earnt that result today,” he said.

“We suffered in the beginning after an error, which can happen, but the players approached the game in a brilliantly way and they did not let it affect them mentality-wise.

“The next hurdle was when Luton lost a player, to make sure we did not panic and not try to force the actions too quickly.

“You can feel the tension building in the stadium, me included, because we all want the players to get what they deserve.

“But they stayed calm, with one good action after another to build pressure and then got what they deserved.

“It was a special moment, everyone was fantastic. So, there is a real feeling of pride and we had a lot of hurdles to overcome.

“We had control, and I want to see more of that from us. We have had it at stages in games this season and come away from it.

“But the last two performances really help us to believe in being patient and controlling games the way we want to.

“We now have back-to-back results playing this way, so we have to continue.”
