Luke Williams | The challenge for us is to make the key moments count
Luke Williams says Swansea City need to find a way to come out on the right side of the fine margins in the Championship as they prepare to take on Sheffield Wednesday tonight (7.45pm).
The Swans are looking to bounce back from defeat at Blackburn on the weekend when they face another away day against the Owls in south Yorkshire.
Williams’ side suffered frustration in Lancashire at the weekend, losing 1-0 on their travels for the fourth time this season, with all of those defeats coming in games where they had chances to take at least a point.
The head coach has talked about his side needing to find a ruthless edge to make sure they profit on the positive signs they are showing in a number of areas.
“I am sure in my belief in the players that we can become a much more clinical team,” he said.
“It’s about us treating those moments as being a chance to be the matchwinner, to take that glory. You have to see those moments as opportunities, not as threats.
“There are key moments in games we can extract to try and demonstrate how a different decision or action can create a more positive outcome, because we can see away from home that with the control we have had in games we have the chance to get positive results.
“I have faith in the players that can do that, and we have another chance on Tuesday
“We are expecting a tough game, a team that are really well organised and coached, with a good manager.
“But we have to try to look at the opportunity we have to try to improve our season by getting more points on the road.”
