Liam Walsh eager to get back in the fray for Swansea City
Liam Walsh is desperate to get back out on the pitch for the first team after getting valuable minutes under his belt for Swansea City Under-21s.
The midfielder was named among the substitutes for the weekend win at Millwall following his return to training from a hamstring injury.
Walsh then played the first 45 minutes for the under-21s in their 4-4 draw with Watford, and made a positive impact in the middle of the park.
Now he is hoping he can put his injury frustrations behind him and get back in the thick of the action for Michael Duff’s side.
“It was good for me to get those minutes under my belt, obviously it has been a frustrating time not being able to help the team over the first part of the season,” he said.
“It’s hard working your way back after another injury, but I am as frustrated as anyone as I want to be out on the pitch helping the team.
“I am trying my hardest to get back to full fitness, so get a few minutes for the under-21s was really good.
“Hopefully I can push on now to help the team.
“It was great to be in the squad for the Millwall game at the weekend, I am feeling fine, and I would love to be able to get some minutes against Norwich or Plymouth.
“I want to be out there, that’s the job as a footballer, to be out there working hard and playing on a Saturday,
“I feel as the season is going on, we are getting better as a team and I want to be out there helping.”
