Liam Cullen | We let the three points slip away
Lifelong Swans fan Liam Cullen was pleased to bag another south Wales derby goal, but admitted Swansea City had let three points slip away after relinquishing control of the contest.
The Wales international netted the opener – and his third goal in three south Wales derbies – after just nine minutes as he turned in when Ethan Horvath parried a Ronald volley.
But Callum Robinson denied the Swans a sixth win in seven derbies when he swept home from an Ollie Tanner cutback.
Cullen had spoken in the build-up of the feeling of elation that comes with scoring for the team he supports on derby day, but he was disappointed his latest effort against Cardiff had helped his side secure victory.
"In the first half, we were totally in control. In the second half, we lost our way a little bit. We got punished for being sloppy," said Cullen.
"On a personal note, I'm happy to get another goal in the derby, but it's the three points that's missing and that's the most important thing.
"Scoring in this game, scoring for this club is one of the best feelings. I managed to do that again and celebrate with the fans in that far corner.
"The fans are incredible, especially in a game like this, they don't stop. Something we talk about a lot in the changing room is to perform for them.
"They made an intimidating atmosphere and it's down to that to use that to our advantage, and we didn't manage to kick on and do that.
"We have to dust ourselves down quickly with two games coming up in the week, and start to find that consistency."
