Liam Cullen nominated for PL2 Player of the Season award
Liam Cullen has been nominated for the Premier League 2 Player of the Season award, less than 24 hours after scoring his first senior goal for Swansea City.
Cullen netted Swansea’s third in a 4-1 victory over Reading at the Madejski Stadium, a result which – combined with Nottingham Forest’s 4-1 loss to Stoke, saw Steve Cooper’s side secure a play-off spot.
Striker Cullen enjoyed an excellent campaign for the club’s under-23s, netting 17 goals in 21 appearances in all competitions.
The shortlist for the award – decided by the Premier League’s Football Development Panel – also includes Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour, Liverpool’s Curtis Jones, Jahmal Hector-Ingram of Derby, Rayhaan Tulloch of West Brom and West Ham’s Nathan Holland.
The last Swansea player to win the prize was Oli McBurnie, who scooped top spot in 2017.
