Liam Cullen says he is enjoying his football more than ever at Swansea City after a hugely positive run of form for the academy product.

Cullen has eight goals to his name this Championship campaign, and two goals for his country in his Man of the Match performance against Iceland in November.

The 25-year-old put pen to paper on a new contract through to 2028 in October, and the striker is relishing being in top form and hopes it can continue ahead of Saturday's South Wales derby.

"I've played every game apart from the Southampton game, but then every game in the league. I'm getting consistent minutes," said Cullen.

"I've chipped in with goals, and I've had a few myself. I was speaking to the gaffer, and I said it's the first sustained period I've had with the team where I haven't come out for a couple of months.

"It's the most enjoyable time of my career so far, It's something I want to continue and hopefully, can carry on my performances and numbers in terms of goals and assists.

"I mentioned to the head coach that this is something I've not experienced; playing every game. The festive period is so busy, and then by the West Brom game, I was one of the ones that was tired.

"But no one feels sorry for you in this league, and you've got to get through it. I'd like to think that I've learned what's good for me and what's not in terms of recovery and getting the energy back into my legs."
