'Let's do it for the fans'
Local lad Connor Roberts is hoping to deliver for the fans when Swansea City take on Southampton in a Premier League survival scrap at the Liberty Stadium tonight.
Carlos Carvalhal's side slipped below the Saints and into the relegation zone on goal difference following their weekend defeat at Bournemouth.
Despite the disappointment, the Jack Army were in good voice at the Vitality Stadium – and Roberts is anticipating more of the same.
The 22-year-old academy product, who hails from Crynant, grew up supporting the Swans – and is desperate to ensure his fellow fans are smiling when a difficult season draws to a close on Sunday.
“The fans are always there for us," he said.
"Even at Bournemouth, when we didn't perform too well in the second half, we could still feel them behind us.
"I’ve no doubt that every single one of them will be behind us when we play Southampton.
"As players we all want to put on a good performance for them and get the three points that we massively need.”
