Lawrence Vigouroux has challenged Swansea City to carry the never-say-die mentality that secured them an important win at Bristol City into this week's meetings with Sheffield Wednesday and Stoke City.

The Swans goalkeeper was named player of the match in the 1-0 victory at Ashton Gate, making two outstanding first-half saves to deny Jason Knight and Luke McNally.

Josh Tymon's first goal for the club and a stubborn defensive effort helped carve out a first three points of 2025, and Vigouroux believes the effort levels and spirit on show need to be a minimum requirement over the remainder of the campaign.

And that starts with the visit of play-off chasing Sheffield Wednesday to the Swansea.com Stadium on Wednesday night.

"I feel like that win was really important for us. To go there, to a place where very few away teams have won this season and get a win and a clean sheet is excellent," said Vigouroux.

"We have had a difficult run and we definitely needed something to give us that lift, and I think everyone - on and off the field - worked really hard to help us get that result.

"The boys defended so, so well. They limited their chances and I only had three or four saves to make, which I was able to do and help the team.

"I hope it is one that can stand us in good stead for the games ahead. We have all seen how football can be sometimes, you have difficult times and runs where you don't get the results, but if you show the character to come out the other side then things can change quickly.

"We had that mentality at the weekend, we dug in and worked really hard for each other and we ready go to.

"But, we know you cannot turn up and only do that once every four or five games. We have some big games coming up this week and if we can take the mentality from Sunday and carry it forward then I don't think there's any doubt things will improve."
