Swansea City goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux is looking to start the new season on the front foot when the 2024-25 Championship campaign gets under way on Saturday.

The 30-year-old stopper recently signed a two-year deal with the Swans, with the option for an additional year through to 2027, and was the Swans' third signing of the summer window as he linked up again with head coach Luke Williams.

Vigouroux played out the full 90 minutes in the final pre-season friendly against Rio Ave, and now has his sights set on continuing the momentum as Swansea face Middlesborough in their Championship opener at the Riverside Stadium on Saturday (12.30pm).

"It was a great feeling to get out there in front of the fans for the first time, especially at the stadium, said Vigouroux.

"The boys played really well, and as a team, they've all worked extremely hard. My pre-season here started in Austria and I saw how much they worked.

"I feel it's a good indicator of where we're at, there were lots of moments in the game where we had to dig deep, but those are moments we'll revisit on the training ground before Saturday.

"It's always a bonus to get a clean sheet, and it adds a bit of confidence going forward, which is what we'll need when we start our Championship campaign.

"It'll be great to have a good following of fans at the Riverside, especially after their support in friendly. We want to put in a performance for them and start the season right."
