Laudrup full of praise after win
Michael Laudrup praised the effort of his players as the Swans picked up another three points on the road with a 2-0 victory at Crystal Palace.
The Swans began the game as they did against Liverpool on Monday as Michu fired them ahead inside two minutes - seven seconds faster than Shelvey's opener against Liverpool.
Swansea dictated the play throughout the game, and Nathan Dyer doubled the away side's advantage after debutant Alvaro Vazquez's clever cut-back found the winger just outside the six-yard box.
After a hectic week, which saw the Swans draw with Liverpool in the Premier League and record a historic victory against Valencia at the Mestalla, Laudrup said he was delighted with his players.
He said: "It's been a fantastic week. Before the start, I thought that this would be the most difficult game because it was on the back of Liverpool and Valencia. It was the third game in only six days - and with all of the travelling.
"I'm really pleased with what the players did today. I think it always helps when you score in the first or second minute, but even so, you have to play ninety."I think we dominated the game from the first to the last second. The only thing was that we should have done was score more goals, because we had the chances to score five or six.
"But it is difficult to not be pleased after you win 3-0 and 2-0 in three days."
The Swans had numerous opportunities to extend their lead - one of which fell to Vazquez, whose effort sailed high over the bar.
Nevertheless, the Swansea boss was pleased with the Spanish Under-21 international's debut, and said that he did exactly what he was asked to today.
"I think he did well," said Laudrup. "He did what I asked him to do."
"He had a very good assist, and he arrived at that situation because of good movement.
Yes, he then had a chance and could have scored a goal, but he did what we asked him to, and for his first game, I thought he was very good."
Meanwhile, Crystal Palace manager Ian Holloway was less than pleased with his side's display, but insisted on praising the Swans.
"I'm absolutely gutted. If you'd have seen the work we did and what we talked about; it all faded away within a minute and thirty seconds.
"But I'm not taking anything away from them; I thought they were embarrassingly good, to be honest."
