Kyrell Wilson frustrated despite hat-trick against Watford
Kyrell Wilson may have netted a hat-trick for Swansea City Under-21s against Watford, but he and his teammates were left frustrated at not having claimed all three points following the 4-4 draw at Landore.
Wilson had given the hosts an ideal start in this Professional Development League encounter with two fine finishes, and looked to have given the Swans the points when he completed his treble in the closing stages, but Edward Gyamfi got his second of the game for Watford as it ended all-square.
It brought the 18-year-old's goal tally up to seven in all competitions this season, which also includes a brace against Hull City at the Swansea.com Stadium in September.
Despite the disappointment, the Swans - who had led 3-0 and 4-3 against the Hornets - still remain unbeaten on home turf this season, and Wilson hopes that him and his teammates can continue that form going into Saturday's Premier League Cup fixture against Brighton and Hove Albion.
"It's disappointing not to get the win as a team. Getting a hat-trick is a great feeling, it's my first for the club but obviously the most important thing is for the team to win and we did not manage to do that," said Wilson.
"As a whole in the second half, we were sort of hiding a bit and let the game slip out of our control.
"In the first half, we put in a good shift but we needed to keep that momentum up after half-time, but we didn't.
"Every time we've been home, we've been good, here we could have been better, but to be unbeaten at home for a long time is a positive thing and that gives us motivation.
"It always helps when we have a good crowd and staff and players come and watch, it gives us a good boost. We want to keep that form going."
