Goalkeeper Kit Margetson has signed his first professional contract at Swansea City, securing his future in SA1 through until the summer of 2026.

Having made over 15 appearances for Swansea City's Under-18s last season, and being named on the bench for the under-21s on several occasions, Margetson  - who signed the deal on his 17th birthday - and who has been at the Swans since under-15 level, earned himself another three years at the club whilst still being a scholar.

The young keeper also played a vital role in Wales Under-17s' triumphant European qualification back in March and the tournament in May.

Under-18s' goalkeeping coach Paul Whitfield is delighted to see Margetson's hard work, on and off the pitch, be rewarded with a professional contract.

"Kit has worked extremely hard. He's worked his way up the ranks, and that has now been rewarded," said Whitfield.

"He's done amazingly well with Wales, and he has shown that when he plays for them, especially in Israel, and in the European Championships in Hungary.

"Not only does he work hard in training, but he also works hard outside training. He's always open to learning new things, and takes information on board really well. He is an asset to the club and academy."
