Katy Hosford celebrate v Cardiff City

Swansea City Ladies forward Katy Hosford savoured an "amazing feeling" after finding the net again at the Swansea.com Stadium in the 1-1 draw with Cardiff City Women.

Hosford put the Swans ahead in the second half against the Genero Adran Premier leaders, firing home from acute angle to make it two goals in two games in SA1 after netting in the season opener against Cardiff Met.

However, an equaliser from Phoebie Poole would force the Swans to settle for a point in front of the 1,376 strong crowd.

Hosford was grateful for the support of the Jack Army, and says she and her team-mates are determined to keep the pressure on in the title race after missing the chance to close to five-point gap to the leaders.

“It’s an amazing feeling scoring here at the stadium, I’ve supported the Swans from a young age and getting the chance to play here is a massive opportunity for us girls,” said Hosford.

“The result didn’t exactly go our way, I think we could have come away with the three points, especially in the second half when we put in a really good performance. It wasn’t meant to be, so we will take the point moving forward.

“I had to come from quite far away to celebrate with the fans last time, it was a really nice feeling, and it was really nice to have so many people come out and support us and hopefully we get the chance again.

“It’s massive for us to see another good crowd, it means they’ve come back to see us after the last time which is a massive achievement for us. I hope we can keep progressing and keep getting as many people to see us as we can.

“We came into the game looking for three points, but we will take the point, Cardiff are a really good team, I think when we go to play them in the new year we will know what to expect and hopefully we can learn from this and grow.

“It’s definitely not over for the title, we’ve still got a long season ahead, we’ve both dropped points and I think most teams this year will given the competitiveness of the league.

"We will keep going and keep giving our best to come away with three points every week.”
