Katy Hosford eyes strong start to phase two of Genero Adran Premier season
Captain Katy Hosford says Swansea City Women are determined to get phase two of their Genero Adran Premier campaign off to the best possible start when they host Wrexham at Llandarcy on Sunday (2pm).
The Swans entertain the north Wales side looking to extend a seven-match unbeaten run in the Welsh top-flight, including a victory over leaders and reigning champions Cardiff City in their final phase one game.
That win saw the Swans close the gap at the top of the table to five points, and Hosford wants them to embrace the challenge of needing to be near-perfect over the remainder to put as much pressure as they can on the leaders.
“We are still in the title race, but we know that realistically we have to win all of our matches which shows how tight the league is,” said Hosford.
“We will take each game as it comes and look to put in a good performance on Sunday and make sure we start phase two as strongly as possible.
“We have had a big mindset change after beating Cardiff in the league and we know that as long as our preparation is good, and we take our chances during games, we are confident we can continue our good run and keep the pressure on.”
