Josh Tymon relieved to get off the mark
Josh Tymon admitted relief was the overriding emotion after he opened his Swansea City account with the winner to ensure the visitors got their rewards for a battling display against Bristol City.
The wing-back fired in a rebound in the 55th minute in front of the away end at Ashton Gate to help give the Swans three points on the road and a first win of 2025.
The visitors defended stoutly to claim a valuable win, whilst also crafting opportunities com at the other end of the pitch for Ronald, Žan Vipotnik and Jisung Eom.
And 25-year-old Tymon praised the togetherness and resilience from his teammates after what has been a tough start to the calendar year.
“It’s an unbelievable feeling to score my first goal for the club,” said Tymon.
“It’s such a huge relief after what’s been probably the most difficult spell since I’ve been at the club in terms of results.
“You could see the togetherness at the end and in front of the brilliant travelling support again, it’s a huge relief to get three points.
“We deserve credit because it’s not an easy place to come, they packed their stadium out, and to see it out the way we did, especially towards the end was a credit to everyone.
“The lads that came on gave us that extra bit of energy and gave us that boost.
“We really needed it. I’m just so happy for the fans in that away end, coming out in their brilliant numbers as they always do.

“The lads needed that in that dressing room. We needed that bit of confidence. The mood has been pretty down as you could imagine after a tough run.
“We’ve not played well and we’ve not picked up points in games that we should have. So this will be a huge boost.”
Tymon also revealed how his goal, converting at the far post after Goncalo Franco’s shot had been parried, was influenced by some of the homework and analysis the Swans had done on their hosts.
“We watched Bristol through the week, and there had been a couple of goals that are pretty similar to what I scored, with the keeper parrying it in a dangerous area,” added Tymon.
“I took a gamble on that specific one and luckily it paid off."
