Josh Tymon will have plenty of friends and family cheering on as he looks to continue his 100 per cent record when returning to face hometown club Hull City, but the defender insists the first priority is on making sure he does his job in helping Swansea City get back to winning ways.

Tymon, 25, came through the academy ranks with the Tigers and progressed to first-team level, making his senior debut at the age of just 16.

He would go on to score his first senior goal against the Swans in an FA Cup tie when aged just 17, and he will be back at his old stomping ground when Luke Williams’ side head to the MKM Stadium this weekend.

Saturday’s early kick-off will be Tymon’s fourth game back at the home of the Tigers, and not only has he won on all three previous visits with Stoke and Swansea, but he has yet to concede a goal.

“Hull is where I was born and where of lot of my family still are,” he said.

“I spent a lot of time at the club, and came through the academy there, and I was one of those who was lucky enough to go on and make my debut.

“I owe the club a lot, there were many people who really helped me and pushed me on to the next level.

“It’s a fixture I always look for, mainly because I know how many tickets I will get asked for!

“I’ve already had a few messages so I think there will be plenty of friends and family there.

“Funnily enough, I think I have won every game I have been back there.

“I am not going to sit here and pretend I won’t get a bit of stick there, but you can either fall or embrace it.

“I’ve been lucky enough to be on winning side when I have gone back, I hope that can continues but the main thing is to focus on doing the best I can for the team I am playing for, because that’s my job.”

The visitors are looking to respond after relinquishing a two-goal lead in falling to defeat against Sunderland last time out.

Swans boss Williams pulled no punches in his assessment of the loss to the Black Cats, and Tymon knows it’s important the squad heed his honesty and show the correct mentality.

“It is a chance to bounce back from last week. It was the most demoralizing result of the season because we were in the game and had an early two-goal lead.

“In the second half we just were not us, if we are brutally honest.

“As you can imagine it was a deflated dressing room, but we have had a week to go over it, the manager has been really honest with us, and it’s important we respond in the right way.”
