Josh Key believes the international break can prove an important period for Swansea City.

The Swans head into the break having taken four points from a challenging opening to the new Championship campaign, with head coach Luke Williams and his players acknowledging the need to build a consistency of performance.

With the transfer window now closed, the gap before Norwich City visit the Swansea.com Stadium on Saturday, September 14 offers an opportunity to continue to integrate some of the recent signings into the squad.

“There’ll be a few of the new faces here for the international break and I think it’s important to work with them and allow them time to connect to how the manager wants us to play and buy into the philosophy of how we want to play as a team,” said Key.

“It’s never easy at the start of the season, there’s not a lot of time, but we have to give ourselves time to try and gel as a team and I think the next two weeks will be really important for that.”
