Joel Piroe keen to kick on ahead of Queens Park Rangers clash
Joel Piroe is pleased to be back among the goals for Swansea City and is keen to kick on as they prepare to host Queens Park Rangers this afternoon.
The Dutchman has scored two goals in his last two appearances, and produced a wonderful finish from Matty Sorinola's cross at Stoke in midweek that was reminiscent of the form he showed during a superb first season with the Swans.
With the transfer window now closed, bringing an end to speculation over his future, the former PSV Eindhoven player is keen to help Russell Martin's side get back to winning ways.
“I feel very confident,” he said.
“It’s always nice to score a first goal and then to carry it on and the next one comes. I’m very happy to be scoring important goals again.
“I’ve been playing a bit deeper, I have had some chances where I think I could have scored more, but I think there’s been a bit of misfortune and maybe a lack of sharpness.
“But now I just want to carry on this streak and we will just have to be a bit better overall.
"I want to score every time I am on the pitch, I want to help the team and we want to win games.
"We know we have to manage the game better at times. You know when you are 1-0 up it is going to be tough, you are going to have to fight to protect the goal.
"We just need to be better when we have chances to kill the game, we know we had chances against Stoke to make sure the game was done.
"I am confident we will soon be winning games and being higher up the table, but it is up to us to make that case."
