Joel Latibeaudiere | Togetherness has been key to form
Joel Latibeaudiere believes Swansea City’s togetherness has been key in their superb run of form over the closing weeks of the season.
The Swans head to Hull this weekend on the back of four straight wins, and have tasted victory in six of their last seven Championship fixtures.
That came on the back of a difficult period following the January transfer window, and the defender feels the Swans squad have grown and learned a huge amount during the highs and lows of a challenging campaign.
“It’s been an up and down season, but I think it has helped us improve a lot as players and as people,” said Latibeaudiere, who has been in outstanding form and was on the scoresheet in last weekend’s 3-0 win at Norwich.
“We are a young group, we have gone through some difficult patches, gone through some adversity and we have come through it.
“It shows how much we have grown collectively over the season, you see what we are doing now and it is really promising for the club.
“I think there were times as a group where we felt a bit sorry for ourselves, but we got together as a group, we came together as a team and we told each other that we had each other’s backs and would work hard to be there for our team-mates.
“You can have spells in football where things don’t go your way, but the challenge is to come through it.
“We are just concentrating now on trying to win these final two games and seeing where it takes us.
“That’s the focus. We can’t get caught up in other things, that’s for other people to talk about. We have a job to do.”
Latibeaudiere is due to be out of contract during the summer, but admits his preference would be to remain in Swansea colours.
“I will be disappointed if I am not here next season, I want to be here next season,” he said.
“The staff, the style of football suits me to a tee and I’ve played the best football of my career here.”
