Joel Cotterill eyes competitive debut for Wales Under-21s
Joel Cotterill has his sights set on making a first competitive appearance for Wales Under-21s after being selected in the squad for their European qualifier against Denmark later this month.
The midfielder is joined by a quartet of Swansea team-mates; with Ben Lloyd, Josh Thomas, Cameron Congreve and Evan Watts for the game on June 20 at Vejle Stadion.
Cotterill featured in the friendly against Scotland back in March, but has yet to feature in a competitive fixture.
And, with the clash with the Danes signifying the start of the qualification effort for the 2025 European Championship, Cotterill is eager to make an impression.
“I had a really good end to the season with Swansea, and I am just hungry for more now,” said the 18-year-old.
“I enjoyed being involved in the last camp and was able to get some game time, and the next step for me is to play in a competitive fixture.
“It’s a really good set-up to be a part of, it will be a really good test for us, and I am really looking forward to it.
“After that it will all be about being ready to come back and work hard during pre-season with Swansea.”
