Joe Rodon a "pure defender", says Cooper
Steve Cooper hailed the pure defending ability of Joe Rodon after the centre-back turned in an excellent display in the 3-1 win over QPR.
Rodon, who had been named in Ryan Giggs’ Wales squad earlier on Wednesday, made countless blocks and clearances as Swansea continued their unbeaten start to the season.
While the defender was not the only player to make an important contribution to a fine all-round team performance, there was no denying the stand-out nature of Rodon’s showing.
And head coach Cooper once again had high words of praise for a player he and his team-mates “love”.
“It’s pure defending it’s no coincidence that when called upon Joe was in the right place,” said Cooper.
“He is reading situations and he will do anything to stop the ball going forward. Joe played really well here, but I think he has played really well in every game.
“We love Joe, he is Swansea through and through. He loves being at the club and we love having him.
“If he keeps playing as he is, he is going to be a real asset.”
