Joe Rodon | I'm looking ahead, not dwelling on the past
Joe Rodon insists he is only looking ahead and there “are no excuses” as he looks to be a key figure in Swansea City’s 2020-21 campaign.
The 22-year-old Wales international has enjoyed a fine start to the season, helping the Swans keep a pair of clean sheets in their two Championship fixtures to date.
He has slotted in seamlessly alongside Marc Guehi and Ben Cabango having returned from a quad injury in time for pre-season.
Head coach Steve Cooper spoke of his desire to see Rodon rack up the appearance numbers this term, having been frustrated by foot and ankle injuries in the two previous campaigns.
But Rodon is not dwelling on what has gone before, he is only looking at what is directly ahead; which is a trip to Adams Park to face Wycombe Wanderers.
“I've put it all behind me now, there are no excuses,” said Rodon.
“All I'm focused on is the next game on Saturday. That’s how it has to be, it’s all about playing and delivering on a Saturday.
“No player wants to be injured. I'm looking forward to next Saturday and I'm going to give everything for the team.
“We all know what to expect, Wycombe are a very physical team. But we just focus on ourselves, play our game and hopefully, we can come away with a good result.
“Every game in this league is tough and it's only going to get tougher. We take one game at a time and go from there.”
