Joe Rodon hopes winning habit can boost Swansea City
Joe Rodon hopes Swansea City’s 100 per cent record so far during pre-season can help them hit the ground running when the Championship campaign begins.
A 3-0 victory over Bristol Rovers at the Memorial Stadium on Tuesday night saw the Swans make it five wins from five under new head coach Steve Cooper, and rack up a welcome clean sheet.
And, while Cooper and the squad know the degree of difficulty will go up a considerable level when Hull visit the Liberty Stadium on August 3 for the big kick-off, Rodon hopes the winning habit can help Swansea pick up where they left off after a strong finish to 2018-19.
“We want to carry on where we left off last season and, although it is only friendlies, the gaffer has said that we want to have that winning mentality and we want to go out there and kill teams off, which is something we did not do so well last year,” said defender Rodon.
“But we have been doing it so far and the challenge now is to keep improving game by game.
“We got a clean sheet in the end, too. To be fair all the boys have been working hard over the last few weeks, as you can see.
“We have been scoring goals, which is an important part of the game and has always been our style, but we played well again here and got that clean sheet.”
