Joe Allen | We cannot feel sorry for ourselves, we must do better
Joe Allen says Swansea City must find the right response and make sure there is no repeat of their performance in defeat to Bristol City.
The Swans had led early against the Robins, Liam Cullen opening the scoring in the 10th minute, but goals from Mark Sykes and Sam Bell gave the visitors the three points.
Head coach Michael Duff pulled no punches in his assessment of the display, and midfielder Allen insists the Swans simply have to knuckle down and show the right mentality to bounce back.
“It’s a poor result and a disappointing performance. Having gone ahead in the game we are very disappointed,” said the former Wales international.
“It is harder to take because as a group we have talked about putting together a 90-minute performance, to stitch together the good spells we have had in games.
“That was the aim we had set ourselves and we have fallen short of that.
“We have got no option but to dust ourselves down, get back to work and make sure we are better than that next time.
“It is vital we respond, we cannot be feeling sorry for ourselves.
“We know we can do better and must do better. It is quite simple.”
