Jess Williams | Winning run is a reflection of what we can do

Defender Jess Williams feels Swansea City Women’s strong end to the 2024-25 campaign has set a benchmark heading into next season.
The Swans finished outside the championship phase of the Genero Adran Premier for the first time since it’s introduction in the 2021-22 season, but ended the campaign with five consecutive wins under caretaker head coach Yzzy Taylor.
Williams netted her fourth goal of the season as they ended rounded off the campaign with a 4-1 win over Aberystwyth Town. Emily Richards, Taite Trivett, and Stacey John-Davis were also on the scoresheet for the Swans.
Defender Williams is pleased with how her team have managed to bounce back after a difficult start to 2025, and feels they have a platform to build on heading into next season.
“It’s a good way to end the season, we did well, got three points and finished on a high,” said Williams.
“To get on the scoresheet as a defender is always a bonus, but I’m just happy to be helping the team, scoring those goals is fun but it’s all about the three points.
“We have had the quality from day one, but it just wouldn’t click for us which leads us to the position we are in this season, but the results in the last five games have shown what we can do.
“We’ve performed well, we’ve looked like a team and really dug deep.
“The last five games have been a reflection of what we can do, we’ll have a nice rest now and then get into pre-season and look to keep this going.”
