Jess Williams | We are heading in the right direction
Jess Williams believes Swansea City Women are heading in the right direction as they get ready to return to the Swansea.com Stadium this weekend.
The Swans beat Wrexham 3-2 at the Racecourse on Sunday, returning to winning ways following their goalless draw against Barry Town United Women.
Defender Williams netted her first goal of the season in the second half, adding to Stacey John-Davis’ opener before an own goal would complete the scoring for the visitors.
It is early days for a revamped squad working under first-team manager Jamie Sherwood, but Williams is confident progress is being made ahead of the visit of defending Genero Adran Premier champions Cardiff City Women to SA1.
“We have levels that we want to hit, we’ve still got more to give,” said Williams.
“But to get three points at the Racecourse, it’s a hard place to come, but we dug deep and we are excited for next week.
“It’s a massive game, we are well prepared for it and getting the win against Wrexham sets us up for it really nicely.
“We are heading in the right direction, we will be in this week and I know that we will be working hard and be fully focused to give even more for the team.”
