Jess Williams grateful after picking up Supporters' Player of the Season
Jess Williams thanked Swansea City Ladies' fans after she scooped the Supporters' Player of the Season prize at the club's annual awards dinner.
The defender signed for Swansea in 2018 from Cyncoed Ladies, and has been a regular ever since.
It was a transitional campaign for Swans Ladies, after they were unable to retain the Genaro Adran League title they had won in each of the three previous campaigns.
However, there were plenty of highs to take from the season, which included Champions League football, and their first fixtures at the Swansea.com Stadium.
And Williams has praised the impact the fans have had on the growth of women's football, and hopes to see the game continue to grow year on year.
"It's a great award to accept, being noticed by supporters that come and watch means a lot," said Williams.
"The fans that come and watch every home game mean a lot to us as a team, so to get their support behind me is fantastic and, hopefully, I can keep battling through next season to keep impressing them so they keep coming to watch.
"It's been a long and hard season but knowing we have fans behind us that keep coming to watch our games week-in week-out doesn't just mean a lot to me, but to all of the girls as well.
"Hopefully, next year we can keep pushing and try our best to keep getting those numbers up.
"It has been a tough season, it hasn't been our best for sure, but spirits are high and I know we can't wait to get in for pre-season already.
"There are so many positives to come from this season, not just in Wales or from us but from all over the country.
"The women's game is growing, and to be a part of it in this day in age is a really big thing, and I can't wait for it to keep growing."
