Jerry Yates | We know there's a lot of improvement to come from us
Jerry Yates doesn’t feel he or Swansea City have been at their best so far this season, but is confident they will hit their stride as they continue to work and build relationships.
The Swans return to Championship action this weekend when they host Hull City at the Swansea.com Stadium.
After a tough start to the season, Michael Duff’s side have taken 17 points from their last 10 games, winning five and drawing two of those fixtures.
Yates, meanwhile, has four goals to his name following his summer move from Blackpool, and admits there is far more to come from him and his teammates as they grow in understanding.
“We have had a lot of new players and new faces, I think we have been adapting a lot this season,” he said.
“The group’s togetherness is incredible, we stick together, we are grafting non-stop. There is a lot of belief and talent in the squad.
“I don’t think anyone has seen the best of us, we are learning to play alongside each other but that is coming together, we have a strong belief we can kick on.
“There are top-quality players here, I need to learn to work with them, but I believe it will all gel together.
“I don’t think we, or I, have shown our best yet. We have been very good in periods and, once we get consistency, we will be able to get up there.
“For myself, I need to keep working hard and reach the standards that are set here.
“I need to be more of a threat, but it is about gelling as a team, and I don’t mind who scores if the team win.
“It’s about working hard and getting that chemistry with the players around me. We always put the work in on the training pitch and if you do that it will come together.”
