Jay Fulton wants to make patience pay
Jay Fulton hopes his patience has paid off after making an impact on his return to the Swansea City starting line-up.
The Scot was a regular in Steve Cooper’s line-up over the opening weeks of the season, but then had a stint out of the side following the defeat to Brentford in October.
He returned to the starting XI against Huddersfield and marked the occasion with his first goal of the season, and followed it up with an industrious display in the Swans midfield against Fulham.
And the 25-year-old hopes he is doing enough to retain his place moving forward.
“Obviously, it was difficult to be out of the team because you want to be in,” he said. “We were picking up good results and playing well, so I just had to be patient. It was then important that I took my chance and made the most of it when I returned to the side.
“All you can do is try to perform well and see where it takes you. The Championship is tough and we need everybody ready to play.”
