Jay Fulton believes Swansea City can take positives from their performance against Middlesbrough despite the final result.

The midfielder thought he’d given the Swans a two-goal lead after appearing to capitalise from close range shortly after half time and following Joel Piroe’s opener, but that was chalked off due to offside.

Moments later, Aaron Ramsey had levelled things for the visitors and four minutes later Cameron Archer made it two. Despite lifting themselves again, the Swans found themselves 3-1 behind when Chuba Akpom scored from the spot.

The Scot reiterated the importance of taking things one game at a time with Millwall away on Tuesday evening the next challenge, but believes the performance against Millwall for the opening 55 minutes of the game gives the side plenty to build on.

“We're disappointed,” he said.

“The goals were conceded were pretty poor but I think we went toe-to-toe with a team that are third in the league and on an unbelievable run.

“Their form has been good, they've got good players and they're an athletic team and I think we caused them problems.

“As I've said the last few games, it's all about taking each game as it comes. We'll recover, get ready and go again on Tuesday.”
