Coach Jarred Harvey insists Swansea City Under-18s will be ready to go again despite the disappointment of seeing their FA Youth Cup fourth-round tie against Fulham abandoned while leading 1-0.

Yori Griffith's goal five minutes before the break had the hosts ahead against the Category One Cottagers.

But freezing conditions forced the game to be called off after the officials inspected the playing surface at the interval.

Harvey acknowledged the Swansea players were disappointed after putting themselves in a good position, but feels they have plenty to take forward into the tie when it is rescheduled.

"It's beyond our control, we're disappointed and the boys are disappointed," he said.

“But from a player care and player welfare standpoint, it was the right decision (to abandon the game). Safety has to come first.

"I thought we played really well as a team, and with some great individual performances, we were really good.

"I thought we defended the ball well, put players on the ball and we scored a great goal.

"We played the conditions well, we played with purpose and intensity and we had a couple of good chances from counter-attacks.

"We now have to go again, and we'll prepare as usual. You've got a great Category One club there as opposition, and thought we gave them respect while being willing to take the game to them.

"Overall, the boys rose to the occasion and they had a brilliant 45 minutes. They managed the emotion of it being a big game in a big competition really well, and we will make sure we are ready to do that again."

Supporters can retain their tickets for the rescheduled fixture, details of which will be confirmed in due course.
