Jarred Harvey pleased with "strong" performance in hard-fought draw
Coach Jarred Harvey was pleased with Swansea City Under-18s' battling performance after their 1-1 draw against Watford in the Professional Development League.
Thomas Woodward's goal saw the Swans pick up a point against the Hornets to extend their unbeaten run to six games.
The away side had taken the lead through Jonathan Lawson while the Swans had to play the entirety of the second half a man down after Thomas Searle saw red for denying a goalscoring opportunity.
The Swans had beaten the Hornets midweek to progress to the PDL Cup final thanks to another goal from Woodward, and a wonderful strike from Jacob Cook.
And Harvey saw some similarities between the two games, and was pleased with the resilience his team showed.
"It was a bit similar to Tuesday, in the sense that we started slow and eventually we did concede within the first five minutes," said Harvey.
"The goal was a small mistake from us, but then we responded with a very good goal ourselves.
"I think when we settled into the first half, we were comfortable. It was more open than we would have liked, but then the sending off did change the game.
"I thought we were excellent in the second half, the effort and the desire to stay in shape to play a certain way with 10 men was pleasing to see.
"All the boys were out on their feet at the full-time whistle, they didn't stop running and they went after everything.
"They've had two tough games this week, and against the same team. I can't fault the players, I thought they had a really good game and to make it six unbeaten is brilliant.
"Overall, it was a real strong performance."
