Coach Jarred Harvey praised an "excellent" team showing as Swansea City Under-18s beat AFC Bournemouth 1-0 on the road.

The young Swans led through new scholar, Morgan Bates who struck home in the first half, and fought hard to claim a clean sheet and the three points away from home.

"The boys were excellent. They started the game really well, and really got after them and pressed brilliantly," said Harvey.

"We could have gone in at half-time a few goals up. We had a lot of good chances, and we'll work on making sure we improve on those chances we are creating.

"All in all, it was a real team performance against tough opposition, who are top of the table. A young side with Alex Godfrey and Kai Rhodes featuring, they both did excellent.

"It was nice to see Morgan Bates get another goal, he's a real handful at the minute and he's playing good week-in, week out.

"We've let some leads slip this season, but Saturday that was non-existent because the boys stuck together and pulled through to take the win."
