Swansea City Women’s first-team manager Jamie Sherwood was disappointed with the manner of the goals his side conceded in their 2-2 draw with Barry Town United Women.

Barry took the lead in the first half as Ingrid Aadland capitalised on a mistake at the back before sliding Erin Murray through on goal to finish.

But the Swans hit back in the second half, Stacey John-Davis firing a low shot into the bottom left corner to equalise.

Emily Richards then continued her rich vein of scoring form, netting her sixth goal in five games as she rounded the goalkeeper and tapped home to put the Swans in front.

But Ellie Gunney’s 91st minute header from a corner would force the Swans to settle for a point at Jenner Park.

Sherwood felt there were more signs of the Swans showcasing their pm-field identity, but acknowledged they had paid the price in a couple of key moments.

“We are disappointed because in the second half I think we truly committed to the way we want to play,” said Sherwood.

“We moved the opposition into positions they didn’t want to be in and then we took our chances.

“In the first half we started really well, and then we didn’t commit fully to what we wanted to do after conceding.

“It’s disappointing to lose the goals that we did lose, one from a set piece and one from a sloppy bit of play, which unfortunately gave them two opportunities to score and they scored both, we’ve created a lot more opportunities and scored two.

“You can view it as us being hard done by, we did enough in that second half to come away with three points.

“You can also see that we created a number of chances, we’ve had one ruled out for offside which possibly wasn’t offside.

"You can say we’ve been hard done by, or you can say we’ve come away from home, gone 1-0 down and taken a point on the road.”
