Jamie Paterson says Swansea City need to be ready to go and impose themselves when they face Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on Saturday.

The Swans head to Wearside looking to bounce back following home defeats to automatic promotion candidates Leeds United and Ipswich Town.

They won their last away fixture at Hull City, a showing Paterson believes shows that the Swans are capable of.

And the midfielder – who has six goals and four assists to his name this term – wants Luke Williams’ side to be prepared to be brave and take the game to their hosts.

“We need to keep plugging away,” he said.

“Every game is massive at this stage of the season. We went to Hull City and got a good result and that was a good performance. We had a win and a clean sheet, and that shows what we can do when we put things together.

“We have had back-to-back losses since. We were a lot better against Ipswich than we were against Leeds, but we know it’s a results game.

“It’s important we take the positives, because I felt it was a good performance, but we know there are things we need to improve and put right.

“The games keep coming thick and fast. Hopefully we can go up there, impose ourselves on the game and get the three points.”
