Jamal Lowe tips new signing to give Swansea City a different attacking option
Jamal Lowe believes new signing Kyle Joseph will bring “something different” to Swansea City’s attacking play.
The pair were at Wigan at the same time, with Lowe involved in the first team while Joseph was busy making a name for himself in the club’s academy set up.
While Lowe went on to score 14 goals in his first season in SA1, helping the Swans reach the Championship play-off final, Joseph was promoted into Wigan’s first team and struck five times – including a hat-trick - in 18 League One appearances.
Now the forwards are reunited at the Liberty, and Lowe is confident the Jack Army will enjoy watching Joseph in a Swans shirt.
“I watched Kyle a few times at Wigan because I used to stay around for the under-23s games sometimes,” said Lowe.
“He can handle himself on the pitch. He’s not afraid of getting stuck in. I’m not sure if all under-23s games are like it, but Wigan’s were a bit feisty, and Kyle wasn’t shy in that respect. So he won’t have a problem in terms of physicality in the Championship.
“He’s a player who will give us something different, which is good. On top of that, he’s a centre-forward who scores goals. He did that for Wigan last season, and the under-23s before that, so now it’s about finding his feet in the Championship.
“I’m looking forward to seeing him here. It’s a great place for him to develop, play and help the team.
“He’ll be a good addition to the team.”
