Jake Bidwell | We're not getting carried away
Jake Bidwell insists no-one at Swansea City is getting carried away by a good start to the season, but feels Steve Cooper’s side have given themselves a good base to work from as the Championship schedule becomes increasingly frenetic.
The Swans headed into the international break with an unbeaten record, winning three and drawing one of their first four games in the second tier.
They will return to action with a home meeting with Huddersfield at the Liberty next weekend, a game which kicks off a run of seven games in just 22 days.
Bidwell has been one of several players to carry his fine post-lockdown form into the new campaign, with the wing-back already having a goal and two assists to his name.
But he knows the good early work will be undone if the Swans do not kick on.
“I think it’s been the case for the whole team, not just me, that we’ve been showing good form and working really hard for each other,” he said.
“Everyone's playing well. The boys at the back look solid. Connor (Roberts) on the other side has been a different class, his energy is unbelievable. The boys in the middle get us playing and the lads up front are always a threat.
“As a team, we're doing well at the moment, but we're only four games into the season so we're not getting carried away.
“We've given ourselves a good platform and want to carry it on after the international break. We’re in a good place but it doesn’t guarantee anything over a season.”
