Jake Bidwell targeting festive form

Jake Bidwell hopes Swansea City’s win last weekend can kickstart a run of festive form and a regular role under Steve Cooper.
The Swans returned to winning ways against Middlesbrough on Saturday, with an Andre Ayew brace and Sam Surridge’s strike – set up by Bidwell - sealing a 3-1 victory at the Liberty.
It ended a run of six games without a win, while Bidwell was enjoying his second game back in Cooper’s starting XI after missing the defeats to Fulham and West Brom.
And the left-back has his sights sets on more points and playing time as the Swans enter a busy festive schedule.

“Christmas and New Year is always an important period in the season. The games will come thick and fast, so it’s a good time to hit a bit of form,” said the 26-year-old, who has made 18 Championship appearances since his summer switch from QPR.
“If we can build a bit of confidence and get some momentum, it’s as good a time as any to go on a run.
“For me it has been good to be back in the team. I want to play as many games as I can. We’ve got a good squad, so there are obviously going to be times when you don’t play. You’ve just got to be ready to take your chance when you do play – that’s all I can do.
“Everybody is going to be needed over the course of the season. Hopefully, I can play as big a part as possible.”
