Jack Cooper | Good form gives us motivation ahead of semi-final
Jack Cooper believes Swansea City Under-18s have extra motivation thanks to their fine run of form heading into this afternoon's semi-final of the Professional Development Cup against Watford (2pm).
A 3-0 win over Sheffield United saw the age-grade side progress to the last four of the competition for the very first time, and they have a home draw against the Hornets.
Attendance at Landore is free for supporters, and fans can gain access to the site from 1pm.
In the group stages, the Swans topped their group following wins over Cardiff City and AFC Bournemouth, plus a thrilling 3-3 draw with Plymouth Argyle.
Cooper, 18, played a vital role in the Swans 2-0 win over Ipswich Town on the weekend, where goals from Rohan Davies and Seb Dabrowski secured a fourth-consecutive win.
Watford, meanwhile, saw off Hull City in the quarter-finals, but Cooper wants Swansea to carry on their run of form and progress to the final.
"The boys have done amazing over the last month, we've really stuck together and we've turned the hard work into some good performances and results," said Cooper.
"There were a few changes to the team at Ipswich but, because we all know how each other plays, it was no bother and we dug deep for the win.
"Our recent results give us that motivation going into the semi-final, but we know it's going to be a different type of game with it being a knockout game.
"We know that we're capable and we hope this form continues, and that we can push through to the final, it will be an amazing experience."
