It's Go, Go, Go for Gomis
27th June
Swansea City is pleased to announce the signing of French international striker Bafetimbi Gomis, subject to international clearance.
The 28-year-old has signed a four-year contract with the Swans on a free transfer from French club Lyon.
The signing gives manager Garry Monk's squad a huge boost ahead of the new Barclays Premier League campaign.
Gomis, who will join the forward ranks alongside Wilfried Bony, completed a medical and agreed personal terms at the Liberty Stadium tonight.
The 12-cap international netted 22 goals last season, plus 25 the previous campaign, after signing for Lyon for 13m euros in July 2009 from St Etienne where he scored 40 goals in 142 appearances.
While at St Etienne he spent a six-month loan spell at Troyes in 2005 where scored six times in 13 games.
He has progressed every season since his move to Lyon and leaves as a free agent after turning down the offer of a new contract with 172 appearances and 62 goals.
He turned down offers from a number of Premier League and overseas clubs to sign for the Swans.
