'I want to succeed with Swansea'
Roque Mesa has revealed his decision to join Swansea City was made as soon as he heard about the club’s interest last summer.
The Spaniard arrived from Las Palmas for £11 million in July and has become a regular feature in the heart of midfield in recent weeks.
Once he was made aware of the club’s interest in signing him, Roque Mesa read up on the Swans' history of playing eye-catching, possession football.
And he says the decision to move to Wales was an easy one.
“When I heard that Swansea wanted me, I found out all about the history of the club and when they were compared with Barcelona,” he tells this weekend’s Jack Magazine.
“I watched videos of them and they have always played very good football.
“When my agent told me about the interest, I didn’t even need to think about it and just wanted to come straightaway with my family.
“I wanted to succeed with Swansea and in the Premier League.”
