Harry Darling | We take the point and move on
Harry Darling believes Swansea City showed good resilience and fighting spirit in their 1-1 draw with Coventry City at the Swansea.com Stadium.
Matty Godden put the Sky Blues ahead shortly before half-time, but Jerry Yates got the Swans back on level terms within 90 seconds.
Both sides created opportunities to take all three points, with the visitors forcing a series of corners towards the end of the match, but the Swans stood firm to secure a share of the points.
“We conceded a bit of a sloppy goal, but I thought we stayed in the game well and got back into it with the equaliser,” said Darling.
“In the end, they probably had more possession but I felt like we probably had the better chances.
“But it was a point on the board and we’ll move onto next week.
“We don’t want to concede first, but to come back so quickly shows we’ve got that fighting spirit, so that’s good."
Defender Darling was also pleased with how Swansea dealt with a number of set-piece deliveries into their box, having been disappointed in the manner in which they had conceded at West Brom last time out.
“Last week, set-pieces decided the game, there were five goals and all of them were from set-pieces so we know how big a thing it is," he added.
“Marge (Martyn Margetson) has been brilliant with us as well as Sheezy (Alan Sheehan), in terms of attacking and defensively. It’s about learning the detail and sticking with it and defending and attacking well.
“Sheezy has been brilliant. He’s given us so much detail and we feel like we can make it a real strength of ours this season.
“If we keep getting first contacts, hopefully we’ll get more goals.”
