Harry Darling | We have to keep the belief
Harry Darling is hopeful that recent performances against play-off chasing opposition will translate to a positive result when Swansea City host Bristol City at the Swansea.com Stadium on Sunday.
The Swans head into the game on the back of three straight defeats, despite positive showings against Luton, Middlesbrough and Millwall.
The latter - a 2-1 defeat last Tuesday night - was arguably the best performance of recent weeks, but two sloppy goals proved their undoing at The Den.
“I think in the last three games, even though we haven’t got the results we wanted, the performances have been a lot better so we’ll take that as a positive going forward,” said Darling.
“We’re as frustrated as anyone by the goals we’re conceding. It hurts us to play as well as we are and then to be concede these sloppy goals.
“Fish (Andy Fisher) is the first one to hold his hands up. He knows he made a mistake on Tuesday but no one ever makes a mistake on purpose.
“As staff and players, we need to get around him and boost his confidence so in the next game he does well.
“It’s tough at the minute with results but we all believe in the way we’re playing. All we can do is believe in ourselves.
“It’s another tough game against Bristol City, they’re a good team. But we’ll prepare as usual for them and hopefully we can get a result.”
