Harries aims to build defensive partnership
Cian Harries is keen to build a defensive partnership alongside captain Joe Rodon at the heart of the Swans Under-23s defence.
The young Swans sealed their first win of the season since promotion to division 1 with a 5-2 triumph over Derby.
And Harries, who joined the Swans from EFL side Coventry in July, is keen to help them record more wins at the heart of the U23s defence.
“I think there is more to come from us,” the 20-year-old said. “Joe (Rodon) is a good leader and communicator.
“We played alongside each other for Wales Under-20s for two games this summer.
“It was a good defensive partnership that managed to keep two clean sheets with a win against Bahrain and goalless draw against France.
“Our aim now is to continue that that partnership at the heart of the Swans defence and get more clean sheets in Premier League 2 this season.”
Tonight, the U23s line up against Tottenham at the Lamex Stadium (7pm) in search of more PL2 points.
And Harries believes the team can go into the game full of confidence.
“Monday’s win has given us a real boost,” he continued. “It was good to get the monkey off our back and get our first win.
“We are a driven group of players and even though we scored five goals last week we still feel we were not at our best and there is more to come from us.
“Tottenham are a top class side at all age levels so we know we will need to raise our game again and deliver another performance.”
